It endeavors to assist all who participate in its varied objectives to realize their highest potential as individuals, and also to realize their rights, freedoms and responsibilities in the community and the larger society of which they are a part.

The college offers courses to prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions, to prepare for the workplace, to update work skills or prepare for a new career, to gain a general education, and to improve basic skills in mathematics, reading, writing and science.

Founded

September 1947

President

Dr. Douglas Garrison

Recognized for

Fifty years of quality higher educational services to the Greater Monterey Peninsula, outstanding transfer education, occupational programs serving employment needs in our area and learning opportunities for students of all ages.

Monterey Peninsula College offers some very important advantages for students…

Student Life

Monterey Peninsula College provides opportunities for students to become involved in student government, college governance, campus clubs and intercollegiate athletics. Each spring, the Student Activities Office assists in Lobo Day, which is a day that introduces students to the various services and programs of the campus.

The Associated Students of Monterey Peninsula College (ASMPC) is recognized by the Governing Board as the official representative organization for Monterey Peninsula College students.  Members of the Executive, Council and Judicial branches are elected for the period of one year; all other positions are appointed by Student Government.  All elective positions require that the student be enrolled in nine or more units and have at least a 2.00 GPA.

The ASMPC meets weekly in the College Center.  All students are encouraged to attend at least one meeting because Student Government is an excellent opportunity to get involved with the decision-making operation of the college.  Members of Student Government are invited to become members of standing committees of the college.  The college recognizes the importance and value, to the local community as well as the institution, of providing a constructive avenue for students to have a voice and to develop individual leadership goals or techniques.

For the International Student

Monterey Peninsula College maintains a year-round International Student Office that assists with academic and personal counseling, housing assistance, transfer placement and student activities.

The presence of international students on our campus and in our community increases our understanding and respect for the many cultures of the world. MPC recognizes the importance of preparing students to take their place in an increasingly global community. International students gain a deeper understanding of American life by living and studying at MPC.

The International Student Office provides the following services…

If MPC can assist you in any way as you explore educational opportunities in the United States, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We look forward to hearing from you.
